TV Series you are into

Sherlock, despite having only 6 episodes, is easily one of my favorite Sherlock Holmes adaptations and shows. Other dramas I really enjoy are both on AMC and are Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead.

When I'm in the mood for something funny, I used to look toward Arrested Development, Friends, and The Office (US version), but now Parks and Recreation would have to be my favorite.

I have lost interest in Breaking Bad, having only made it to about the third episode of season 2.

I am really getting into Under the Dome. I have not read the book, so I have no idea where it is going. Other than that, I just watch reruns of Hardcore Pawn (about a pawn shop in Detroit). TV is in a bit of a slump with Revenge, Once Upon A Time, Walking Dead, and Person of Interest on break.

You're missing out then! Benedict Cumberbatch is outstanding as Holmes and Martin Freeman makes for a more than capable Dr. Watson. With it being set in modern day, it follows Doyle's stories very well

I actually do not own a television, which most fellow Americans I mention it to cannot wrap their minds around. However, I watch some shows on the free (non-subscription version) of Hulu.com. The one that I am currently hooked on is an Australian drama called Sea Patrol. Hulu posts the full season once it is available (instead of one episode at a time as they do with some others), so I just powered through season two. The other one I like (which they post one at a time) is an American drama called White Collar.

We didn't have a TV growing up - my parents still don't have one.
Brits can't usually get their heads round this either! Mum just uses iplayer and isn't really bothered about anything else.

Is White Collars the series with Matt Bomer in it?

I watch very little TV in real time either because I have no TV in my uni room or because I'd rather download and watch a series in full. I watch sports live on tv but that's it.

TV Series that I do watch include:

NCIS
NCIS:LA
Revenge
Surburgatory
Elementary (which I love - I find a female watson pretty cool!)
Gossip Girl (I got into it after it finished)
Glee (though who knows what's gonna happen now)
Hart of Dixie (which the bf watches with me xD)
Lost Girl (I LOVE this so much - it's one of SyFy's better series in my eyes)
New girl (love Zooey Deschanel so much!)
Revenge
I'm trying to get into Nashville
I did watch Smash though it was average for me (Glee is better)
I watch Cougar Town but I can't decide if it's just bad or so bad it's kinda good!

I LOVE historical dramas too like Downton Abbey, I also enjoyed the remake of Upstairs Downstairs.

Guilty pleasures include reality tv as mentioned above (I watch stuff like CBB and geordie shore for the hilarity and to make me feel more intelligent... ;) Made in Chelsea is also hilarious to me!)

I've probably missed some! Being a student I have far too much time on my hands xD
Also watch all the david attenborough series that appear on tv :D

Oh and I agree that Sherlock is definitely worth a watch - it's excellent waiting for the new series

Oh I watch stuff like Big Bang Theory, Community and Friends.
My bf has got into Under the Dome too...I actually quite enjoyed the first episode!

Althrough I actualy watch not that much TV, I love the German serie Panda, Gorilla und Co. It films the daily life of animals and keepers in both Berlin Zoos and is part of a serie of about 20 different series about the daily lives in 20 different German ( and one Austrian ) zoos and are entitled Animal, animal und Co. The two animals are 2 species kept in the zoo involved ( for example zebra, tiger, harbour seal, polar bear and so on ). Zoos in which the serie is made are - among others - both Berlin-zoos, Leipzig, Hamburg, Dresden, Duisburg and Vienna.
Another serie which I would love to see - but sofar didn't - is the Australian prisson-serie Wentworth. not because I like prisson-series but because one of our Zoochatters is acting in it !

Ok so a few new series are out, and since I am typing on my phone, I will be brief.

The Blacklist - combination of Person of Interest and 24. Very exciting edge of your seat action thriller. Highly recommended, and my favourite new show of the year.

Agents of SHIELD - waste of time, unless you are in high school. The characters are very young and immature, suggesting that the target audience is not hardcore adult fans of the superhero genre.

Hostages - seen the first episode and it looks like it has potential. I am not sure how far they can draw the story out though.

Sleepy Hollow - Ichabod Crane wakes up in modern times and so does the headless horseman. Turns out George Wahington was really fighting the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse. My wife loves Supernatural and Grimm and therefore loves it. I hate it for having such an unbelievable story, bad writing, and wooden acting.

I'm in high school and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was not even close to as good as I was hoping it would be. I'm still going to watch it though because I love Marvel and superheroes.

The Blacklist is looking promising. Can't see how you think it's like 24, I can't see any similarities to it. But while we're discussing it, they are currently making a new 24.

Agents of SHIELD - haven't bothered, heard it was lame anyway.

Sleepy Hollow - I'm well and truly over the glut of supernatural/mystical crap that's been churned out on TV and at the movies, so this one I'm ignoring too.

Hostages - has potential, as long as they don't drag it out too long.

Under the Dome - despite what I said above about supernatural/mystical themes, I still like sci-fi (although I don't know if this series falls into any of those categories), the action and the subplots has kept this one interesting.

Homeland - two episodes in and it's still as good as the first two seasons.

Longmire - really enjoying this show, even though it's not my normal fare. And it has an Aussie in the lead role.

The Mole - this reality series was made earlier this year in Australia so probably hasn't been shown outside of the country. There were several seasons several years ago which were popular, they tried it again about five years ago, changing the format a little, but it didn't work. This one seems to have gone back to the original although the first few weeks were dragged out. It's been quite entertaining watching the behaviours of the contestants, and the arguments. It appears to have been a bit too top-heavy with Generation Y. One more episode to go.

:p

24, as I recall it, was non stop action and nail biting. I am finding Blacklist giving me the same adrenaline rush.

I quite enjoyed Under The Dome but I thought it was a mini series. Turns out there will be a second season.

I will watch Homeland when the other shows are done. I also plan to continue watching Once Upon a Time and Revenge.

I haven't watched The Mole, but I am watching The Bachelor and enjoying it. :D

And of course, an old favourite is still Hardcore Pawn (the show about the pawn shop on Detroit).

Oh and for any Aussies, you simply must watch Legally Brown.

I am a "hardcore adult fan of the superhero genre" (with about 10,000 comics filling my study), and I enjoy the show. It's not as good as the recent Marvel movies, but it's fun and has great potential.

Hostages - seen the first episode and it looks like it has potential. I am not sure how far they can draw the story out though.
I made it through half of the first episode before I turned it off and canceled the series on my DVR. I don't see how they can drag this one story out for a whole season without getting really tiring. This would have been a better story line for a movie or at most a mini-series.

The best new show this year is Brooklyn 99. It's a comedy cop show starring Andy Samberg, and I have laughed all the way through the first three episodes.

You are enjoying the storyline of a woman who hacks the SHIELD from a laptop in her van? And you are finding it easy to believe that you can be a 20 year old kid and act so unprofessional and still be the top techie in a spy agency? The show just didn't seem adult enough for me, but then again, I am not a huge fan of the superhero genre and have never bought a comic.

Yeah I need to will myself to watch the second episode of Hostages. Too much other good stuff on.

Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D. is alright. Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also pretty good but I didn't find it all to funny. I do watch both shows now, though.

I am not a huge fan of sitcoms. I enjoyed 2.5 Men when Charlie Sheen was on it (he was a man's man) but I don't bother watching it with that wuss Ashton Kutcher (his character, not Ashton, who is alright in my book for being a MILF hunter). I occasionally watch Big Bang when flipping channels. There's a sketch show in Australia called 'Legally Brown' that is crazy funny because it makes fun of stereotypes.

I love Big Bang!

That sounds and looks funny but, unfortunately, would never pass in America. There is a show slightly similar called Totally Bias(ed?). Haven't seen it much, though. Saturday Night Live gives me my stereotypical funny sketches mainly!

For the record, when it comes to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., I do find the whole laptop hacker thing a bit of a stretch and the whole rebellious agent think to be over used and a bit distracting from the main story lines, which are actually a bit interesting IMO. I do wish for more action, though. And possibly a cameo from like Captain America or someone at some point.

Let's see, as of now I watch:

Once Upon A Time
Revenge
The Mentalist
Boardwalk Empire
The Walking Dead
Homeland

Beauty and The Beast
The Blacklist
Bones
Sleepy Hollow

Both NCIS
Person Of Interest
The Originals
Supernatural
Sons of Anarchy

Arrow
Modern Family
Nashville

Once Upon A Time in Wonderland
Glee
Scandal
Elementary

Hawaii Five-0
Blue Bloods (love me some Tom Selleck, Hubba Hubba!)
Strike Back

Good thing for DVR and Netflix! I catch up when I can.

I look forward to Dracula, Grimm returning. And the second half of Teen Wolf in Jan.

With Teen Wolf, I was kind of miffed Deucalion, went down without a fight and it took to the last episode to show him as the "Demon Wolf". Gideon Emory was another gorgeous addition to the show. There's so much yumminess on that show, that it is hard enough not to watch.

Well I can see why a sketch about a religious extremist who wants the country to turn to his religion and who thinks that being gay is a sin wouldn't be considered funny in America. :p

Is Nick Fury in this week's episode, and is he played by Samuel? I think every man secretly (and for me, openly!) wishes he had the looks and body of the actor who played Captain America in the movie.

Yeah I watch quite a few of those shows too. I'll give Dracula one episode to prove itself worthy of one hour per week of my time.

I asked someone in work if they record shows on a VCR and they laughed in my face. What's DVR?
