Sherlock, despite having only 6 episodes, is easily one of my favorite Sherlock Holmes adaptations and shows.
I actually do not own a television, which most fellow Americans I mention it to cannot wrap their minds around. However, I watch some shows on the free (non-subscription version) of Hulu.com. The one that I am currently hooked on is an Australian drama called Sea Patrol. Hulu posts the full season once it is available (instead of one episode at a time as they do with some others), so I just powered through season two. The other one I like (which they post one at a time) is an American drama called White Collar.
Ok so a few new series are out, and since I am typing on my phone, I will be brief.
The Blacklist - combination of Person of Interest and 24. Very exciting edge of your seat action thriller. Highly recommended, and my favourite new show of the year.
Agents of SHIELD - waste of time, unless you are in high school. The characters are very young and immature, suggesting that the target audience is not hardcore adult fans of the superhero genre.
Hostages - seen the first episode and it looks like it has potential. I am not sure how far they can draw the story out though.
Sleepy Hollow - Ichabod Crane wakes up in modern times and so does the headless horseman. Turns out George Wahington was really fighting the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse. My wife loves Supernatural and Grimm and therefore loves it. I hate it for having such an unbelievable story, bad writing, and wooden acting.

The Blacklist is looking promising. Can't see how you think it's like 24, I can't see any similarities to it. But while we're discussing it, they are currently making a new 24.
Agents of SHIELD - haven't bothered, heard it was lame anyway.
Sleepy Hollow - I'm well and truly over the glut of supernatural/mystical crap that's been churned out on TV and at the movies, so this one I'm ignoring too.
Hostages - has potential, as long as they don't drag it out too long.
Under the Dome - despite what I said above about supernatural/mystical themes, I still like sci-fi (although I don't know if this series falls into any of those categories), the action and the subplots has kept this one interesting.
Homeland - two episodes in and it's still as good as the first two seasons.
Longmire - really enjoying this show, even though it's not my normal fare. And it has an Aussie in the lead role.
The Mole - this reality series was made earlier this year in Australia so probably hasn't been shown outside of the country. There were several seasons several years ago which were popular, they tried it again about five years ago, changing the format a little, but it didn't work. This one seems to have gone back to the original although the first few weeks were dragged out. It's been quite entertaining watching the behaviours of the contestants, and the arguments. It appears to have been a bit too top-heavy with Generation Y. One more episode to go.
Hix

I made it through half of the first episode before I turned it off and canceled the series on my DVR. I don't see how they can drag this one story out for a whole season without getting really tiring. This would have been a better story line for a movie or at most a mini-series.Hostages - seen the first episode and it looks like it has potential. I am a "hardcore adult fan of the superhero genre" (with about 10,000 comics filling my study), and I enjoy the show. It's not as good as the recent Marvel movies, but it's fun and has great potential.

The best new show this year is Brooklyn 99. It's a comedy cop show starring Andy Samberg, and I have laughed all the way through the first three episodes.
Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D. is alright. Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also pretty good but I didn't find it all to funny. I do watch both shows now, though.

I occasionally watch Big Bang when flipping channels. There's a sketch show in Australia called 'Legally Brown' that is crazy funny because it makes fun of stereotypes.

I love Big Bang!
That sounds and looks funny but, unfortunately, would never pass in America. There is a show slightly similar called Totally Bias(ed?). Haven't seen it much, though. Saturday Night Live gives me my stereotypical funny sketches mainly!
For the record, when it comes to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., I do find the whole laptop hacker thing a bit of a stretch and the whole rebellious agent think to be over used and a bit distracting from the main story lines, which are actually a bit interesting IMO. I do wish for more action, though. And possibly a cameo from like Captain America or someone at some point.

Good thing for DVR and Netflix! I catch up when I can.
I look forward to Dracula, Grimm returning. And the second half of Teen Wolf in Jan.
With Teen Wolf, I was kind of miffed Deucalion, went down without a fight and it took to the last episode to show him as the "Demon Wolf". Gideon Emory was another gorgeous addition to the show. There's so much yumminess on that show, that it is hard enough not to watch.
