Burmese - P.m.bivitattus

Hix is the winner of that one :)

This is a Burmese python (P. m bivitattus) taken in the reptile house at Welsh Mountain Zoo.

Look forward to the next one :)

Wow! I know I'm late, but I was sure it was an anaconda!

...I'm just a tad too slow on these, aren't I? I need to be on the lookout for new posts on this thread, that way I can get one right on time. :p

I'll post something until Hix puts up a pic. ;)

Have a go.

Ok, I just realised that one of them is waaaaay too easy. Hahaha.

Here is a tougher one. (Still have a go at all 3 pics.)

Not going to answer, as it'll be ages til I get time to sort out a suitable picture, but I'd say number three was by far the easiest of your three!

Number three is the easiest - it is one of my all time favourite passerines, the Bali starling :p

The first two are tough though, I can't get it to exact species but I would say Galah and [Goodfellow's?] tree-kangaroo?

I think nanoboy was referring to number one being way too easy because it is a Leadbeater's cockatoo as in his avatar!

Second one is a Goodfellow's tree kangaroo.

The Bali mynah's portrait shot is (as the others said) very very easy, but there aren't any in Australia so nanoboy's opinion is skewed (;))

Maguari, We'll never know if you really knew the answers. ;)

Javan Rhino, almost correct. You missed the first one.

Chlidonias, correct on all counts. Only after I posted the crop of the Major Mitchell cockatoo, did I realise that it was also in my avatar. The second one is indeed a Goodfellow's tree kangaroo, and the third is a Bali mynah of course. Such a gorgeous bird, but I thought that it was an obscure species so no one would guess it - clearly I forgot which forum I was on. Haha.

Chlidonias, your prize is that you get to a pic or three for us to guess. I suggest posting three pics, each increasingly difficult. :)

Heading out now for the day, but I thought that I would give you something to keep it going. Be specific in your answers.

Hix and Chlidonias, you still owe us some pics, so until you post them, you can't play. :D

First is definitely a tawny frogmouth (ONCE AGAIN I WAS BEATEN TO IT!! ARGH :D), but no idea what the second one is. Wildebeest? :p *JUST KIDDING*

Literally, I have no idea... After looking at kea pictures (yeah, I cheated, so be it ), that would seem right... nothing else immediately comes to mind; I'm not quite the bird expert anyway.

well I know what nanoboy's two extra ones are, but I'm not allowed to play yet so I'll leave it for some more guesses (hint: they're both Australian species!) and then I'll post my photos.

Your hint is correct.

The first is indeed a tawny frogmouth. In retrospect, I should have posted a pic of the Papuan frogmouth to make it more difficult. :D Different laptop, hard drive etc etc.

So, what's the second one folks?
