Shrews have been kept and are easier to source, you don’t like them?
I have already explained in an older post why I do not plan to keep shrews. Unless you have pockets deep enough to pay for a larger venue and additional staff to convince me otherwise, I'll stick to that.
Oh sure we doWe still have Paris...I mean - African Maned rats.![]()
Speaking with some experience, a large screen TV running a loop about venomous mammals would be enough to educate and many people will go away thinking they have seen the animals anyway. It makes little sense to me to keep short-lived, work-intensive mammals that most visitors are not interested in at an already full venue. Which is closed for an unspecified time due to an apparently never-ending COVID-19 lockdown. With the latter negatively impacting the long-anticipated arrival of the custom-made new spitting cobra tank. Etc. etc.
Since you're speaking with some experience, how to get said videos without having to pay a hefty sub to the company that has the copyrights to said loop? There are no free representative videos of the relevant animals. Trust me, I've done my research.Speaking with some experience, a large screen TV running a loop about venomous mammals would be enough to educate and many people will go away thinking they have seen the animals anyway.
Of course I am not referring to your specific conditions of which I have no personal knowledge, just pointing out there are options that do not involve displaying animals. Even a poster would help cover the ground.Since you're speaking with some experience, how to get said videos without having to pay a hefty sub to the company that has the copyrights to said loop? Secondly, TVs are a major distraction, especially for children - the last thing I need during a tour. Children these days already spend enough time passively in front of screens; they should rather focus on the live creatures in front of them.
And thirdly: where to install a large TV in an already rather cramped venue?![]()
What do you think I have been using since 2017?there are options that do not involve displaying animals. Even a poster would help cover the ground.
