I need to get this for my inlaws, lol.

Is it some kind of enrichment for the snake ?

Beautiful taipan by the way, I didn't know you had these.

Yes, it's part of the behavioral enrichment elements we offer to the snakes. The Inland taipan shed her skin just two days ago. She's been on exhibition for several years. Just follow us on Instagram, Facebook etc. ^^

What is her character like ?

Unfortunately don't have facebook but have followed you on youtube.

As far as I know, you can visit our FB and Instagram account even without being on both. As well as our Google business account.

She's curious, friendly and relaxed. If provoked or hungry, she can be very fast and upfront.

I'll check it out ;).

Somehow I imagined her to be pure aggression.

The votes are in, and the name for our Caatinga lancehead is: *drum roll* Buscapé, aka "firecracker". Which is quite fitting, given his Bothrops temper...

Ah I didn't see this name poll :(, I would have suggested the name "Lampião" (a very famous and bloodthirsty Brazilian bandit from the North-East / Caatinga region).

I'm proud to announce that starting today, WdG is currently the only European zoo showcasing the Caatinga Lancehead (Bothrops erythromelas), a small yet lethal pit viper from the Caatinga region of Brazil, which happens to be part of the original habitat of the famous Spix macaw.

He's quite a character isn't he ?
